Hey Lori!
Nanook is doing great. We saw the vet a couple weeks ago- a different one than usual- and she said she didn't see any signs of food allergies. I've got him on Orijen Red and Orijen Fish now as you had suggested and he seems to like it. The other dogs are constantly trying to steal his food! I found him chewing on one of his teeth the other day so I guess he's in the process of loosing his puppy teeth! He's almost completely black on his back now and those dots that you see under his eyes in those pictures I took a couple weeks ago are much lighter. Someone said he looked like a show dog when I was at the park the other day. He is really quite handsome! He has stayed very sweet towards me and has bonded well with Jarrod as well. He gives us lots of kisses! He is still wary of other people though and I am continuing to socialize him by going to the park a lot and giving friends tasty treats to give him. He had his first swim in the duck pond this week and had a blast and everyone was laughing because he kept on trying to hop through the water instead of swimming.
Hope you guys are doing well!
AnaNanook's doing great. We've been going to the dog park nearby and he's made lots of doggy friends! He's still pretty shy with people but we're working on that.
I've started training him and he's catching on pretty quickly- he knows sit and shake and wait (although he doesn't like that one!) and we're working on loose leash walking a little but thats a tough one for him- he's still way too curious about all the cool Brooklyn smells! Despite all the craziness of the city the only thing that makes him even the least bit nervous are floating plastic bags. He didn't even bat an eye when someone set of firecrackers in the park! I'm was very impressed!
His last visit to the vet went fine-he's got all his puppy shots and rabies now- but the vet thinks he has some kind of food allergy. He's been chewing his paws. The vet has had me stop feeding him anything with beef in it first (I was giving him some beef jerky treats) to see if that helps. Do you have any recommendations?
Hope you're well!
